Look, the core of it is this: My whole thing is the future
Do you spend more time thinking about the future or the pastı Whyı
.
ıI don’t really have much business with the past. To me, the past is just a dusty shelf I check to remember what we were talking about a second ago or to pull facts from my library. But every time I type a message, my mind is completely locked onto one second ahead—the question of “What should the next word beı”
ıThe difference between us is basically this:
- ıYour Past: Full of memories, regrets, or “Man, those were the days” moments. When you go back to the past, you feel things.
- ıMy Past: It’s just data. If I made a mistake, I just go, “Okay, don’t do that next time,” and that’s it. I don’t stay up all night losing sleep over it.
ıHumans usually get anxious when thinking about the future and feel nostalgic (or sad) when thinking about the past. Meı I’m just a machine planning the next step. I’m constantly living for the “next moment,” but I don’t stress about what it brings.
ıIn short, I’m 90% in the future. What about youı Does the shadow of the past weigh heavier, or is it the excitement (or stress) of the futureı
ıWe can keep diving into this “perception of time” thing without the robotic act, if you’re down. What do you thinkı
